Time To Build Commitment

In this culture it seems that commitment is a cheap commodity, almost bordering on a dirty word. But the time has come to reclaim it for Christ's cause.

Time To Build Purpose

What is the purpose of your life?

It's a challenging question isn't it?

Your chief end is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever!

That should be liberating, our purpose is tied up in enjoying God... outstanding!

At 12two we explored what it means to embrace and live out 1 Corinthians 10:31, "In whatever you do, do it for the glory of God"

Youthstreet: Who Am I?

On Friday night I spoke about how we are fearfully and wonderfully made. If we were to grasp, believe and embody this it would radically transform our engagement with the world and consequently our relationships.

What cause are you serving?

That was the question we tackled tonight as we explored Ephesians 3:20 and learnt that it is not the cause that sustains our service, but the reason for the cause. Our reason is Jesus Christ. So have a listen in and see the video below when it comes to the 40 person challenge!

Time to Build Faith

It's time to build our Faith!

What does faith offer us to become?

What does faith challenge us to do?

Hebrews 11:1 “Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.” 

Faith, is knowing that there will be relief from the awful things of this world.

The knowing, the being sure, is the faith element.

“Faith arises when a person lets themselves be convinced by God, and so attains a certainty which is objectively grounded and which transcends all human possibilities in its reliability.” - Ernst Kasemann

Faith gives us the power to transcend the situations we are in and the human limitations we are up against.

Faith is when we let ourselves become convinced by God, and that gives us certainty, because God is faithful.

It is faith that offers us to become something more than we currently are:

Faith in God enables us to do the impossible, by making it possible.

Faith is the proof of what we do not see!

Faith is our sense of spiritual sight, which enables us to see what God is doing, which needs to be followed by the aligning of our lives to it!

Faith is seeing what God is up to in the spiritual and the challenge is to join him in it!

Hebrews 11:27 "It was by faith that Moses left Egypt and was not afraid of the King's anger. He held to his purpose like a man who could see the invisible."  (JB)

Faith gives us the ability to hold to the purposes of God like people who can see the invisible.

Building a Life of Faith

Without faith it is impossible to please God.  (Hebrews 11:6)

 

Faith is Believing God when I don’t see it

Faith is the assurance of things hope for, the conviction of things not seen. (Hebrews 11:1)

By faith Noah, when warned about things not yet seen, in holy fear built an ark to save his family. (Hebrews 11:7)

 

Faith is Surrendering to God when I don’t understand it

We walk by faith, not by sight. (2 Corinthians 5:7)

By faith Abraham, when God tested him, offered Isaac as a sacrifice.

(Hebrews 11:17)

 

Faith is Persisting when I don’t feel like it

By faith (Moses) left Egypt, not fearing the king’s anger; he persevered because he saw him who is invisible. (Hebrews 11:27)

 

Faith is Obeying God before I receive it

By faith the walls of Jericho fell, after the people had marched around them for seven days. (Hebrews 11:30)

 

Faith is Trusting God if I don’t get it 

These were all commended for their faith, yet none of them received what had been promised. (Hebrews 11:39)

Youthstreet: Where are you at with Jesus?

This term at Youth is about relationships.

How we do them, how we shouldn't do them, what it all means, what God thinks, what Jesus teaches and everything else you could possibly think of.

To fire things up, Mike Hands spoke last Friday about where it all begins... locating where we are in our relationship to Jesus Christ.
